Before & After School Services will sponsor a Lights On Afterschool family night on October 5th, 2017. The event will be one of more than an expected 8,000 such events across America as part of Lights On Afterschool, the annual nationwide celebration of afterschool programs organized by the Afterschool Alliance. This year, Lights On Afterschool will highlight youth voices in the upcoming national election, encouraging kids to share their thoughts with the next president and teaching them about our electoral process.
SummitRise is for any elementary student in the LSR-7 school district on Late Start Wednesday mornings. Children may be dropped off at their elementary school either at 7:50 (early schools) or 8:30 (late schools). Their is no cost for this service and no enrollment is necessary. Just a reminder, all BASS programs will be closed on Sept. 4th in observance of Labor Day.
BASS will be open on Mon., Aug. 21st at the six Combo Sites – Longview Farm (Longview Farm & Cedar Creek), Summit Pointe (Summit Pointe, Trailridge, Hawthorn Hill), Sunset Valley (Sunset Valley, Woodland, and Greenwood), Meadow Lane (Meadow Lane, Westview, Lees Summit, Hazel Grove), Prairie View (Prairie View, Highland Park, Pleasant Lea, 3LYNX) and Underwood (Underwood, Mason, Richardson). Families need to take their child(ren) to their designated Combo Site. KC Cubbies will be open at their regular location.
Hours will remain the same – 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Students will not be viewing the Eclipse. Indoor activities will be scheduled from 11:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
IMPORTANT: Let your Site Coordinator know if you will be in attendance or not.

BASS celebrated the 2016-2017 year with an annual awards night on Thursday evening May 4th. Special guests included students from the LSNHS Award-winning Robotics Team sharing their year and accomplishments with our team. BASS had a department goal of infusing STEM clubs & activities in every program this year. Awards were given out to very deserving staff members on the team. Please see the attached flyer regarding BASS temporarily closing enrollment of our summer camps for 3 days surrounding the first day of camp. This temporary closing is to protect the safety and security of all of our students and staff.
